I was shopping at Steve Madden in Montreal when it caught my eye. There, across the room it was calling at me. This simple pair of satin pumps in a brilliant shade of pink. A wonderful pink that conveyed a sort of loud subtlety -- neon but not quite 80's. Classy but by no means traditional. I've never seen a pink like this before. Not even in a lipstick, or eyeshadow, or nailpolish. I knew the satisfaction of owning this pair would be priceless. To the dismay of my hopeful heart, they did not have my size. I thought I could let it go but I can't help but think about them all the time. I tried looking on the website but was broken-hearted when I found out that I forgot to ask for their name!
PS. The pair of shoes in the pic is only similar to the pair of Steve Maddens. Like I said, the pink I saw I have never seen anywhere else before and I doubt they can be duplicated.
Just wanted to put it out there that while I do love learning French, I seriously do not feel like waking up in 6.5 hours to be in a classroom for 4 hours!!!
It's been exactly two weeks since I panicked about a dingy room with white walls and a communal bathroom with all but two stalls and two showers. I have settled here in Quebec City so well that it feels like I've been here all along. My sketchy sheets have long been replaced with my own pink sheets and an over-sized pink comforter, and my empty room is filled with my used cups and dirty laundry. Oh ya and my lotion exploded on the first day so my room is filled with the scent of Sephora passion fruit body lotion. I have also adapted to sharing two stalls and two showers. Doesn't even creep me out anymore when random guys come up and use our bathroom.
Most of the girls I've met ended up being on the same floor as me so we have regular gossip sessions. We've gotten along so well that it feels like we've known each other for years. We've covered all the important topics from boys, to family, to bathroom issues (ha ha ha). I would say we are already wayyyy to comfortable with each other ha ha.

I had holes in my walls which moderately creeped me out

I had significantly lowered my standards by the time I got to it, so I was ecstatic to see a sink and a mirror. You might also notice the my mini fridge in the corner.

Sketchy bedsheets....don't know who has used them, don't know how many times it's been washed....

I'm infinitely happier with my pink comforter ($15 from Wal-Mart) and my pink bedsheets (same ones that got me through Europe) :)

We decided that Tammy has the best room b/c the girl before her had put up a giant body mirror where a lonely white board is supposed to be.

Here are the girls. Starting on the left there's me (I look a little hefty due to the massive amounts of poutine I had eaten), Andrea, Caroline, Adrianna, Darci, and Tammy.
We generously gave the camera about 30 seconds before we gorged down our ice creams.
After months of contemplating and procrastinating I've finally signed up for a blog again. Just like the one that I had in Europe a year ago, I am lost -- what do I do with all the functions and settings and options?! It is going to take me a while to figure this all out, but fear not because I am committed to this one. No more 3 week updates written in 3 page essays! Seeing as how the weather is pretty crappy over here in Quebec I will have plenty of time to update!
À bientôt chérie
